Re: The state of Legends
It does sound plausible that a decline in numbers isn't necessarily due to something the league has done (or should've done), but that could also mean there's nothing to do about it. In any case then not having a championship or series is a disservice to the league so indeed let's get started with something. As suggested then a mini-series with just 4 races could be a good start and give information useful to prepare a full championship.
Hardtohandle: Very interesting indeed. I wouldn't mind using payware, but only if it was licensed. Furthermore the URD Corvette has a glased over look in my game, which only used to be a problem on ISI helmets. What's even worse though is that the car is mapped with straight parts curved on the texture, making logos, text and straight lines impossible to do. I've never mapped a 3D model but with such high quality content then I can't understand they didn't take the effort and time to map it better.

Yes well the mod is 9 euros, I have it but still take the Vette which is free to use. I think leagues can contact the makers if they want to run it to make it possible that anybody can use it for free within Legends, so long as it is only used only on Legends servers and you make dl links private to members only.
Looking forward to championship being arranged.

Re: The state of Legends
For me there are so many leagues out there that run tin tops, GT's, etc. That is one of the reason why I love Legends as it has pretty much exclusively run open wheel leagues and that is what I love to run.
For me I'm hoping for either the Formula Two's or the Formula Renaults 3.5 mods to run our leagues in. Match it with the more modern tracks and with some of the 90's F1 tracks.
Some of the visually better Tracks:
*Portugal
*Mills
*Silverstone
*Loch Drummond
*Malaysia
*Lime Rock
*Mid Ohio
*Fuji
*Neurburg F1 ( Hopefully the scratch version will be out by then)
*Bahrain http://devblog.ctdp.net/
*Nordschleife
*Sebring
*Spa
*Monaco
As I've said I'll be glad to help with the track testing, just let me know!

Re: The state of Legends
We are currently testing tracks. thx for the Bahrain link Dale, had not checked that one yet but I hear its quite good.
Which versions of Spa and Monaco where you talking about?
Although Monaco might be a no due to FR35 having no suspension repairs. we kinda had to ditch Macau for that reason as well which is a stunning track imo. but just to risky.

Macau???? Do you have a link for that one, I didn't know that was out...
I'll dig into the Spa & Monaco tracks, I'm at work tonight so it'll be tomorrow before I can look. I'll do some testing on those two too.

I will be back on board full time as soon as we have a championship to get my teeth into, I don't mind too much what we run, I will be there, I was looking forward to the tin tops last week but life got in the way

Re: The state of Legends
So, as I understand it from Rouke's latest post then the first RF2 championship will be FR35's? Will it be a limited mini championship or a full championship like TWF1 with all the trimmings?

Re: The state of Legends
Full blown championship Frank.
We are keeping it Lite though, so many of the intrusive elements (time wise) we have used before (teams/reviews/weights/etc) will be out. our first season, we gonna have to see how things work out before we go exclusive again.
But the core is still the same as before.

Re: The state of Legends
Ok so:
- no stewarding
- no weight ballast
- 8 rounds with 2 weeks apart
- formation lap, standing start
- single race per event lasting circa 55-60 minutes?
What about accelerated tyrewear or fuel-use so pitstops might come into play?

Re: The state of Legends
yes to all of the above apart from tirewear/fuel. that's gonna require a shitload of testing I reckon.
one of the reasons we are gong Lite is that we are not sure how it will pan out. we did a poll and numbers look good, but pols rarely show reality, if we are going full force right now and spend all our free time innit and end up with 5 drivers each race.....
gotta build it up slowly, see how it go's, expand in the future
(still quali reviews though and protests)

Sounds like fun, and it's going to be exciting to see how things will unfold. I can understand about the fuel and tyres though, that's admittetly also the endurance-racer in me that want some ability for tactical driving.

Re: The state of Legends
In another topic you mentioned you can't repair the FR, does that also include replacing wings and fixing bent steering? Also, do you know if it's true you need to switch off the ignition to get certain things repaired? I heard about it back in rF1 days but not sure if it's true or if it's carried over to rF2?

Re: The state of Legends
I think its only suspension, rest will get repaired.
and you don't have to turn of the engine no.
