Next week in rF2: which mod?
We will be using Loch Drummond next week, both layouts? but which cars do you prefer?
So far F2 and Megane have been mentioned.
Personally I favour the F2's for this event because we haven't done an open wheeler in a bit now and they are pretty awesome to drive
Lemmi know, I will sort it on Monday.

I guess I'm wondering, are we talking the 60's F2's or the Formula Two's? Either one is fine with me.DaleB wrote:F2's !!!!

Hold your breath... I'm going to vote for a modern F2!
Never thought you'd hear that did you?

Hang tight, trying to remember where I found it...Rouke wrote:'a modern F2'

DOH!
It's the Williams JPH1B car on the ISI website!
It used to be called the "FIA Formula 2 Championship 2012" but that's back when they were only releasing packaged mods.
Current release is v1.41

Sadly I have to side with Ralph. Short of turning just about everything off, I cannot get suitable FPS at Loch Drummond to even drive, let alone race.
Same mod, more AI and all options on, I get great FPS at other tracks - Mid Ohio, Sepang, etc. Gotta say ISI missed the boat on this track. Then again, I can't get Silverstone to launch at all, at least this one loads!

Re: Next week in rF2: which mod?
BTW, the Formula2/Williams JPH1B mod at Sepang is VERY nice.
Also, the VLM release of LeMans looks very nice as well, super fun with the Howstons but equally fun in the T280 and the Corvette. In fact, the CR6's and Howstons are surprisingly close on lap times...
Still learning the Mazda787, but an obvious natural for that track.
Dumb question, but how can I turn down the FFB level for the Mazda? Or does it have to be done for the entire system [and how would I do that?].

Re: Next week in rF2: which mod?
I've had a bit of time available this weekend and have been messing around with the Spark F2 at Loch Drummond. It's good fun, though I'm still trying to get used to the track. I'm continuing to understand the new build in terms of graphics options relative to FPS. I started with reflections on low as I had them in the Build 300. The new "low setting" is probably equivalent to medium or higher in the old build. Turning reflections off, I gained about 30FPS and it still looks as good as it did before but now I also run with shadows on medium.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with how things run for me on triple screens. I average about 70-80 FPS on Loch Drummond.
Let me know what it will be for next weekend - the Williams modern F2 or the classic F2? And for that matter what track if people are having FPS problems.
By the way, is there a difference in performance between the Eve and Spark F2? This is the first time I'm trying the F2, and I haven't tested the Eve just yet.
Later.

There is a slight difference if I remember right, but can't remember which one is faster...Bogdan wrote:By the way, is there a difference in performance between the Eve and Spark F2? This is the first time I'm trying the F2, and I haven't tested the Eve just yet.

Re: Next week in rF2: which mod?
I had a mess around with the graphics options as Rouke suggested elsewhere but with little significant improvement in FPS. I find Loch Drummond to be a real clunker, much like the ISI Silverstone I agree Rick, both are unsatisfying experiences for me.
So instead I went off to Le Mans, the new Virtua LM beta and found much relief. That track is beautiful and skips along at 40fps minimum on my humble system, plus there is space to really stretch the Howstons and time to munch biscuits on the Mulsanne. Very enjoyable, I could not stop lapping.
