Help with reactivation

Post by Corrado Toxiri »

Hi Guys,

after a painful breakdown of my game PC, I managed to bring it back to life (and better than before), but I had to change Motherboard (and with it, CPU and RAM).

Now, restarting rFactor I'm thrown into the Trymedia process (which I've already done once, successfully, when I changed to this PC in year 2007)

I have my activation code saved, but I cannot insert it as the Trymedia application (a sort of web browser, actually) is returning the attached error and not going any further. I'm stuck.

Anyone has a good idea to get out of this trouble? That would be greatly appreciated

Meanwhile, I wrote to Trymedia's customer support...

Thanks Martin, I´ve read what is your links, but I don't even get to the request of an activation code, otherwise I would have used my (still valid) code, which I used only twice until now.

It looks like the Trymedia activation program cannot contact their website...

I used the 3rd link to send a support request, thanks

Hi guys,

I got a reply from Trymedia and they basically made a cut&paste of the standard solution: uninstall and reinstall everything completely, then try again with the (still valid) activation code.

I reinstalled rF and everything went fine, now it runs sweet.

PS:
with the new SSD system drive, rFactor takes 3 seconds from lanch to the splash screen, and after you cancel the intro video it takes 5 seconds to load the full game :o

Loading a race track takes an average of 3 seconds (from pressing "race" to being into the chat/pit screen)

Highly advised: buy a SSD drive and move your system disc onto it  :allhail:

I know how to remove the intro video (the one with the cars) but can I remove also the "splash screen" (which is actually also a short video with the ISI logo)?

i renamed everything by adding the ".bak" extension to the original (ISILogo.bik.bak)

Thanks!

I renamed the files and now the whole game loads in a single step in less than 8 seconds... including 2-3s of (un-avoidable?) orange rF logo display
