TWFC Jarama-Track Guide-Usable/Unusable Areas

Post by Bret Metcalf »

- Wherever a corner (apex, entry or exit) has a kerb, normal legends rules apply (two wheels on the circuit at apex, etc)
- Where there is no kerb, the sandy areas may be considered circuit, and used.

Bear in mind that the sandy areas are not all the same - some grip, some don't. Irrespective of kerb or not, everyone will be fully responsible for where their car goes, and what they hit, if they lose control. So make sure the bits you plan to use, can be used! As ever, the stewards will be on hand to review quali,lap one and anything else requested.

Regards,
Bret

Gents, for your awareness prior to tonight's event.

From experience with the Club races, some drivers look to be at risk of incurring cutting penalties at the Jarama event. The rules on this are very simple, so please make sure you are familiar with them.

=============
1) Where there is a kerb, Legends rules apply.
a) At entry and exit - two tires FULLY on the track or kerb.
b) At APEX - two tires FULLY on the track.

2) Where there is NO KERB, you may use the sandy areas.
=============

For example at the entry to T1 there is a kerb, also at the apex. It means you must keep two tires on the track/kerb entering T1, you cannot sweep in from way out on the sand. Another example is T5, Le Mans. There is a kerb on the exit, which means you should not have all four tires over on the sand at the exit.

The stewards will be watching this in quali and race. An illegal quali lap will lose you 20% of any points earned in the race. Cutting during the race which picks up time could lead to disqualification.

PLEASE, check your laps. (R) gets you into replay mode, and you can go forward and back in the replay using the cursor keys, along with SHIFT to speed up. PGUP takes you to the most useful camera to check cutting, from above and behind.

Any question, please ask myself or someone from HQ.

Have a good race

As a follow up to John's post:

Some drivers are STILL NOT ADHERING to these standards.

HQ have purposely repeated posting about this problem to really ensure that nobody has any excuses or misunderstandings.

Consistently cutting corners in the race WILL LEAD TO A DQ-no matter if its the winner or the driver in last place.

Bret
