Welcome to the iRacing Trans-World Formula IndyCar 2010 Championship.  The Autumn TWFI season kicks off on Sunday, August 15th, 2010.

Within these pages you will find the information needed regarding the season format and the tracks we will be racing. Please make sure you also read our rules for this championship.

There is a substantial amount of information to take in so please grab a beer, glass of wine or cup of coffee and take the time to understand what will be happening. At the very least you need to know:

Season Format
In finding a compromise to our Legends League tradition, our championship rounds will be taking place weekly with a few non-championship weekends. We will be running on Sundays, starting at 17:30 GMT (1-hour official practice).

Cost
One of our main aims in putting together this new season has been to keep costs relatively low. In order to participate in our first TWFI series you will obviously need a subscription to iRacing. A 3 month subscription ($36) will cover you for the season but if you expect to enjoy iRacing for longer then a 12 month subscription costs $99 and is much better value. You will also need to purchase the Dallara IndyCar which we will be using the tracks listed on the schedule.  We will follow iRacing's IndyCar schedule for the most part - with a reduced race distance in order to fall in the 35-40 minutes range.  Note: we are not running any oval races this season in this league.

Please note that there is no additional cost to join our races. The cost of the Hosted servers has been met by the kind donations of several of our members.

Eiligibility
In order to be eligible to take part in the season you must have earned at least a class D iRacing licence. This is so as to ensure that all drivers have, at a minimum, taken the time to familiarise themselves with the iRacing system. Any reasonably competent driver should have little trouble earning the class D licence within a week of joining iRacing, just concentrate on keeping the car fully on the track and driving safely.

Grid Sizes
We are limiting the grid size to 30 drivers. This is the maximum number which all of the tracks on the schedule supports.  It is also the maximum field size for the official iRacing IndyCar series.

Season Registration
Drivers will need to register for the championship in order to particpipate.

Car Paintjobs etc
As of January 2010, iRacing supports customised car paintjobs. For information on how to paint your car, how to get it to display in the sim and Photoshop templates for each car, please see the iRacing forums. We are not currently intending to put together a Legends League TWFI skin pack but if you wish to share your newly painted car with our other drivers then please upload it here and let us know on the forum that it is available.

Please make sure, whether you paint your own skin outside of iRacing or not, that you do paint your car within iRacing!
