TWF1 D1+ D2 Round 4 at Spa Francorchamps. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is the venue of the F1 Belgian GP. The track is situated in the beautiful picturesque countryside between the towns of Francorchamps, Malmedy and Stavelot. It is considered to be one of the most challenging race tracks in the F1 calendar, mainly due to it's fast, hilly and twisty nature.

31 TWF1 drivers turned up to challenge the 4th round of the championship, 14 drivers in D1 and 17 in D2.

Division 1

D1 in the Qually, saw Roberto Berti taking pole, with Rik Walker in 2nd, followed by Baz West in 3rd. After a gruelling 28 laps in the race, we saw Roberto Berti take the checkered flag, followed by Rik Walker in 2nd and Bret Metcalf in 3rd.

Division 2

In the D2 Qually, Shazy Ahmed took pole position with Franz Brink in 2nd, followed by Costa Gozadinos in 3rd. In the race it was Shazy Ahmed to domineered the pace by taking the lead from the start of the race until the checkered flag, with Mark Fisher finishing 2nd, followed by Petra Kienast in a solid 3rd.

Team Championship

It was a close finish at Spa for the team event with Brain Fade Racing just pipping GWR to the number one spot. It was also very tight for 3rd position with Two Oceans Racing managing to fend off the challenge from Ton-Shi Timu by only two race points. Both Ton-Shi Timu (4th) & Bulldog Racing (5th) recorded their best team's finish of the season so far.

Some teams had technical problems whilst others were only able to field 2 drivers instead of their usual 3, credit must be given to the team drivers who drove in this event which enabled their team to gain some very valuable points for their team's championship aspirations-no doubt the team managers will be pleased with this effort.

Overall Standings:

At the halfway stage of the season Brain Fade Racing are looking very strong at the moment 12 points clear of GWR who are only 2.5 points ahead of Two Oceans Racing. Flink Pink Autowerks retain 4th but only 1 point clear of Team7 Oldies. Motley Crew remain 6th,with equipe BOUS in 7th.Team DRI & Bulldog Racing share 8th spot while Ton-Shi Timu make their first points scoring appearance in 10th position ahead of T.O.F.F.'s.


Interlagos-Brasil is the next TWF1 venue, lets hope for no technical difficulties this time and all teams up to full compliment.
