Mount Panorama, Motor Racing Circuit Bathurst (or often simply Bathurst) is a motor racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. It is the home of the Bathurst 12 Hour motor race, held each February, and the Bathurst 1000 motor race, held each October. The track is 6.213 km (4 mi) long, and is technically a street circuit, as the circuit is a public road when no racing events are being run, and there are many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit.

As a public road, on non-race days and when it is not closed off during the day as part of a racing event, Mount Panorama is open to the public where cars can drive in both directions around the circuit for no charge. However, a strict speed limit of 60 km/h (37 mph) is enforced. You can go faster than this during the race if you so wish.

Historically, the racetrack has been used for a wide variety of racing categories, including everything from open-wheel racers to motorcycles. But safety standard have made it become the near-exclusive province of closed-bodied automobile racing cars.

The track is an unusual design by modern standards, with a 174 metre (570 foot) difference between its highest and lowest points and gradients as steep as 1:6 in some places. From the start-finish line, the track has many notable sections; the short pit straight and then a tight left turn into the long, steep Mountain straight; the tight, narrow section across the top of the mountain itself from McPhillamy Park all the way through Skyline (now known as Brock's Skyline in memory of the multiple winning driver Peter Brock), onto the Esses and the very scary Dipper where not all of your wheels are on the ground for a brief moment and onto the final left hand turn known as Forrest's Elbow before the long, downhill section known as Conrod Straight where speeds can reach just beyond 180mph, a bum apples kink near the tail end of Conrod straight known as the Chase is not for the faint hearted; the final chicane and the turn back onto pit straight at Murray's Corner completing the lap.

Always the scene of some exciting and thrilling races due to the nature of the undulations and blind corners, and with walls no more than a few metres away at most times, accuracy and speed are paramount here. Lose the car into one of the corners and more than likely it will result in minor damage to the car or maybe even worse.

As a season closer to the TWSC Championship, this race is going to be longer than the usual feature races, to feel a little more in-line with the actual Bathurst race, it will run for approximately an hour and a half (40 laps). You will need to concentrate for longer to earn those vital points in this Endurance race finale.

A bespoke TDF file has been made to allow you to exit the gravel traps dotted around the track edges without blowing up your engine. The GDB file has also been amended to allow drivers in the pits to run to 62 mph (100 kph).

Tyres are fixed to Intermediates and the transmission (differential) is also fixed to the ideal setting for running on this track. Almost everything else is adjustable on your car.

You can download files you need from the race format table in the announcement below.

Please put your foot down and enjoy the last race of this exciting and close season at one of the most enigmatic tracks in the world...

This is the world of Tintops and contact does happen, so a modicum nudging and door banging as long as it is not viewed as a blatant assault to gain position will be tolerated but if you are gratuitous and pass someone after making a heavy contact, you will be expected to concede the place, failure to do so will result in sanction from the stewards office.
