extremely disapointed :-( - Le Mans

Rouke,
I think the contact in the hairpin was me, I collected you, the car
went everywhere but not where I wanted it to go - in my whole
practice I never messed up the 2nd of the 2 hairpins after
Indianapolis but this time the car slid over I lost completely
control I was a pessanger in that moment
I am deeply sorry for you, I saw that I collected you

But from begin:

Start was a slide show for me, I am not sure I saw the lights at all,
then the field began to move so did I ... frame for frame is the
better word, stutter with part freezing ... I am glad nothing
happened in this moment
The stutter continued on the long straight all cars close together
still ... and the weaving in addition to that, but the Mulsanne
hairpin went fine.
One lap later:
I think the weaving of my car and Mario`s car caused the contact we
both had in the second lap, he came over to my side and my car went
over to his ....... boom .... some cars got collected in that crash
because it was short before the braking zone for the hairpin.
Mario, it was not under my control ... we talked about that you had
stutter, I had stutter .... deep sorry for all involved

I am currently thinking of withdrawing my car for the rest of the
season! The weaving and the additional stutter with part screen
freezes is dangerous and ruins the races of others drivers. I don`t
want that! Funny is in all my practice on Henriks server I never
suffered it that extremely like today! Maybe it`s server related. I
had this on Club Day already, this can`t be coincident, I always
pointed that out.
All I know is that under this critical circumstances I won`t race
anymore! Exactly what I thought and feared happened: a weaving car
with a slide show, stutter and freezing screen, a danger for others
on track! It`s not me, I definitely can keep the car on track but I
am no "Magier"

Practised my ass off this week, went from 3:60 to a pb of 3:24.602 in

Start was good but the car in front stalled and had to brake hard to
avoid a crash.
From then on it went fine, no sweat untill i got punted hard in the
hairpin when the car behind went mental on the turn, front wing
gone, supsension bended slightly and lost 6 places, went back on,
decided to continue and was faster then ever, 328kph slipstreaming
untill over the hill someone messed up and caused an accident in the
group in front of me, guy behind me could not brake soon enough,
presumably due to the hill and got me in the back and made me spin
and crash.
this time suspension was broken, tried to fix it but no good.

Man this was NOT how i wanted this race to go down, i even requested
a no-overtaking zone in first 3 turns just to be sure we was safe, i
was going for ultra-safety myself as i was determined to finish no
matter what and then this.

i will see it differently tomorow i'm sure but atm i have the same

Yeah i was sorry to see that happen petra, couldnt do much about it, had
about 10-15fps and just tried my best, not good enough to avoid our
contact, sadly. I stayed behind mark when it looked like you came over
slightly, next thing i know we tangled, cannt really say what happend
with the bad stutters, pings and all.

A frustrating experience for me.
I was pleased to do a PB 3.27 in qually and only just kept my place on the
Fangio server. The Lotus 79 could do little more here.

I lined up 23rd on the grid determined to finish and keep a steady pace. I
made a couple of places at the start but it became apparent that all was not
well with the framerates. In practise and qually I had been getting
20-40fps, not great but this is a big clunky track. Now in the race my FPS
had halved. At all the slow bends I was down to as little as 7FPS!
This had a big effect on laptimes, I was 9seconds off my best pace and it
was almost undriveable through the chicanes. I kept it clean and got up to
13th place with only Dave Hawnt behind, he having similar FPS problems. When
he got by a few laps from the end I decided to retire. I remembered I had a
sock-drawer to tidy and it suddenly seemed more fun than this.
I hope never to race here again, yes its very decorative but as a driving
experience its boring and poorly optimized.

For who has fps problems, have you set DX8, low shadow, few cars visible, no
filter, a lower resolution ?

I have an old Sempron 3400 + ATI 9800Pro at 1024x768 with x2 Anisotrop, no
fps problem.

In the race my Ferrari did the work, with 1/3 wings it was very fast on
straight and fairly stable on twisty sections. Had a nice battle with Pedro
till he had to spare some fuel, then I tried to not do any big error ad to
keep David behind. The end was thrilling with George crashing and looosing a
wheel at last chicane and me passing him on finish line.
Ciao
