and make our annual appeal for voluntary donations from our members towards the cost of running this amazing and very special Legends League. It is right now that we ask you to kindly dip, even ever so slightly, into your deep pockets before you spend it all over Christmas, and find at least some loose change. All in return for the great fun and excitement we hope we have given you all this past year and hope to repeat all next year too. .OK we are well aware that, in line with all on-line sim racing leagues, we too have problems in getting sufficient attendance to run new championship seasons and that can only be put right by you guys turning up on Sunday nights for our regular on-line events, and indeed for our regular club sessions too. We are though still working hard to bring you weekly online races, and recently even started an interesting inter-league event and there are more plans in the pipeline if we have your support.
But importantly guys and gals, even the many of you still loyal to Legends League but who are maybe no longer really actively racing, we really do need some funding to survive and stay around here. Never forget that we are one of the world's truly longest running sim racing leagues and one which we believe is still the best and very special indeed to our large list of members. Even if it is only five pounds or five euros or even five US dollars, that you can find to spare in your pocket to donate to us, it will all at the very least help keep our domain and website and therefore our league fully alive.
Of course we will need more funds though to establish a new reliable dedicated server for our on-line events, as our old excellent server we have been using for many years at T7 is sadly no longer compatible with rF2 adn can no longer be used. So yes guys please help us keep Legends League alive and hopefully bring it back to a healthy active state again as we have all enjoyed tremendously for many years. We must though as always, strongly emphasise that Legends League is a free sim racing league and will remain so well into the foreseeable future and of course we have to say that is as long as we have enough support from you to survive these difficult times. So as mentioned above this is a completely voluntary contribution request that we make each and every year without any apologies for doing so, but we truly DO need your support more than ever right now.
Donations can be of any amount you wish in Sterling, Euros or US Dollars (Sterling or Euros much preferred as our outgoings are usually in either of these currencies). As a special little thank you to all those who make a contribution of at least £10 or €12 or US$16, then you will also be offered your very own free and prestigious <your name>@legends-league.com POP3 and password protected e-mail account, that is if you have not already got one of course. When you do make your donation then please also ensure that you send an e-mail to admin@legends-league.com with the subject "LEGENDS DONATION" giving details of your contribution. You will, of course, get an official acknowledgement and thank you email within one week of making your donation. You should also, where appropriate, state your preferred Legends e-mail account user name e.g. <fred>@legends-league.com. We will NOT publicly disclose the names of those who do make donations, this will be strictly known only to core HQ staff as we do NOT want to put any pressure whatsoever on our other members to make contributions to this fund.
So now for the easy method to make your donation :-
You must first of all be logged in to our website as a registered member. Then you will see on the top right of the website home page a "Donate" link or alternatively just click HERE. When you open that link you will find a page with details of the donations scheme and how to make your payment. Underneath those details you will see the "Donate" button which once pressed will lead you to the PayPal page where you can either pay using your PayPal account OR by Credit Card (most types accepted). This Donation link with the easy to use "Donate" button will remain a permanent feature on our website so you can donate at any time of year. However we have to meet our annual disbursements early in the new year, so this month we are being particularly appealing. All donations will be privately acknowledged by PM or e-mail and where appropriate your legends-league.com e-mail account will be opened for you, so please ensure you receive an acknowledgement within a few days of making your payment.
